Interested in Becoming a DEEP Learning Presenter?
All DEEP Learning presenters are Apple Distinguished Educators, Apple Foundations Trainers, Google Certified Teachers, authorized Google Education Trainers, Google Apps Educators and/or experienced professionals with classroom success stories.
Thank you for your interest in joining the expanding team of DEEP workshop presenters! We are all about supporting teachers. One of the ways we do so is to help develop presentation skills. As all presenters offer short Discovery sessions in the morning, participants can choose whose DEEP Dives to attend in the afternoon, allowing those who prefer more experienced/polished presenters the ability to select them. Everyone is happy.
Please watch this video for a clearer picture of what is invloved. If it looks like something you would like to pursue please feel free to put in a workshop proposal for a specific event (linked on event page) or contact us here and we will be in touch
The detailed overview from the Discover page has been included below as well. Study of this content should answer all your questions.
Takeaway Project
The challenges presented to attendees durng discovery sessions are designed to help you develop ideas for your Takeaway Project. This should be something that you create and can bring back to your school community, teachers, classes, and/or students. Your assigned group leader will be able to check for understanding and essentially “assess” that learning was complete through the development, to some stage, of a usable product.
50 minute Afternoon DEEP sessions
If we consider our morning introduction as "discovery" then the afternoon workshops are the chance to engage, experience and participate in an inquiry-based challenge. Workshop leaders act as a facilitators for the participant-led challenges. Depending on the type of workshop you should expect a maximum of 10 minutes direct instruction as a group before embarking on your challenge.

Strands
At the core of a DEEP Learning event is our belief in the concept of differentiated learning. The strands arrangement of the conference is the first level at which participants can maximize their personal learning experience across areas of interest. Apple technologies and Google Apps for Education form the two brand associated pedagogical strands while the third is left open-ended. Examples of focus points might include pedagogical theory, digital citizenship, visual literacy, digital story telling or grade level categories.
Discovery
The next level of personalisation comes from the ability to further fine tune your experience based on the morning discovery sessions. During these 20 minute sessions workshop leaders introduce, demonstrate, and share their topics. These involve examples, demonstrations, direct classroom connections and challenges that allow participants to make informed decisions about which workshops to attend in the afternoon.
These DEEP sessions are fuelled by “Challenges” to accomplish (unless approved otherwise). The challenges are introduced and facilitated by the presenters. The challenges could turn into the creation of your takeaway project.
Unconference & Drop-in Centre Support
An unconference is an opportunity for you to choose topics that you would like to dig deeper into. We will use moderators to generate topics, vote for our favourites and then assign rooms to the most popular ones. Drop-in Centre times with specific workshop leaders are also available at these times. This also offers another opportunity for you to work on your takeaway project.
Knock it Out of the Park Space
We are asking alot of you. Some people get tired. Some people get so fired up they just need to get away and hammer out ideas. We have a room available. grab a coffee. Have a snack. relax or blaze forward. The choice is yours.
